1. What this policy covers
This policy describes how ABFI LLC (“ABFI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles billing, cancellation and refunds for its paid services: bookkeeping and payroll, controller oversight, clean-up and catch-up work, administrative and HR support, CPA coordination, fractional CFO advisory and the Fractional Accounting Department.
ABFI does not provide tax preparation, tax filing or CPA services, so this policy does not cover fees for those services. Those are charged by the independent CPA you engage directly.
2. Your engagement agreement controls
Every paid engagement is covered by a separate written service or engagement agreement. If that agreement says something different from this policy, the signed agreement controls.
3. Pricing on the website
Prices shown on the website, including the starting price for each service tier and the ranges from the pricing estimator, are starting points for planning. They are not a quote or an offer. Your actual fee is set in your engagement agreement after ABFI reviews your business.
4. How billing works
- Monthly services. Fees are billed on the schedule set out in your engagement agreement.
- Clean-up and catch-up projects. Fees are billed as set out in the project scope, which may use a flat fee, a deposit or milestone billing.
- Payment methods. Payments are made by the methods shown on your invoice or in your engagement agreement. Payments may be handled by a third-party payment processor, whose own terms apply.
- Late payments. If an invoice is not paid when due, ABFI may pause work until the account is brought current, as permitted by your engagement agreement.
5. Cancelling monthly services
You may cancel monthly services by giving written notice to info@ABFIAccounting.com, following the notice period and any minimum term set out in your engagement agreement. Fees for the period before cancellation takes effect remain due.
Unless your engagement agreement says otherwise, the billing period in progress when cancellation takes effect is billed in full.
6. Refunds
Because accounting work is a service carried out as the month goes, fees for work already performed are generally not refundable.
- Monthly fees paid in advance. Unless your engagement agreement says otherwise, fees for a billing period that has already started are not refunded.
- Clean-up and catch-up projects. Unless your project scope says otherwise, deposits are applied to the work and are not refundable once work has started, and work completed before a project stops is charged.
- Billing errors. If you were charged in error or charged twice, contact us promptly and we will correct it and refund any overpayment.
7. Complimentary resources
Complimentary resources on the website, such as the pricing estimator, the newsletter and the sample Diagnostic reports, involve no payment, so no refund applies.
If ABFI charges for the Diagnostic or another service that is currently offered at no charge, its fee and any cancellation terms will be shown to you before you buy it.
8. What happens to your records when services end
When services end, ABFI will return or provide access to the records it holds for you, as described in your engagement agreement, once outstanding fees are paid. Your records belong to you.

10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Changes do not affect the terms of a signed engagement agreement that is already in place.
