Jordan Wells founded ABFI after seeing the same structural problem repeat across growing businesses: the right professionals were often present, but no operating system connected them.
Bookkeepers, CPAs, advisors, payroll providers, and leaders all hold part of the picture. ABFI was built to own the whole of it.
Structure was the missing product.
Three decisions shaped how ABFI works, and they still decide how every engagement is set up.
The owner should not be the accounting project manager.
The work was happening, but no operating system connected the people doing it. ABFI exists to be that system, so the owner stops carrying it.
Client Accounting Management creates a point of accountability.
The Client Accounting Manager helps steward the system around those functions so recurring work, review, coordination, reporting, and escalation happen within defined expectations.
The relationship is designed to continue.
ABFI is not positioned as a project firm. The model is recurring because the accounting function itself is recurring. The goal is a department that keeps operating as the business grows.
The work should be accurate. The system should also be understandable.
ABFI’s standards emphasize accuracy, clarity, accountability, transparency, stewardship, and coordination. Those principles govern how the department is structured and how responsibility is handled across the engagement.
